This is definitely wrong for ALPS pots and most of the Asian pots that I've
ever had to deal with. I have posted a page on my sit with the taper
Drawings used by the pots made by Alps and Noble the most common of the
Asian made Pots. I think that Panasonic and others use these tapers as well
as these are the JIS standards. The page is at:
http://www.ersatzplanet.com/Pages/Alps-Taper.html
As you can see all the "B" variations are linear and the "A" are audio, and
the "C" are reverse audio.
Hope this helps and doesn't add to the confusion. When it doubt, ask the
manufacturer or get out the OHM meter.
