[sdiy] [partly off topic?] Nonlinear Filter E.Guitar Test

It's a distortion box. Not like the usual though.
It plays differently. Playing dynamics have a
different effect and feel. Some very nice sounds
are possible. There are also ways to make it sound
like crap. There are 6 controls to noodle
even when using an audio source like e.guitar.
Because it's a filter, it does filter like functions,
but adds distortion as well. Audio sources are why
I built in a cutoff control and an LFO to modulate
cutoff.
One other thing: I'm not exactly sure how this is
happening, but I swear there are times when this
box has pitch or frequency shifted (not sure which)
the attack portion of a sound when I have it plugged
into a monosynth. It's a brief effect, probably less than
a quarter second in length, but long enough to
perceive what sounds like portamento from some 1 or 2
semi tones below the intended note up to it. Rather
cool, since the notes that do it, will do so consistently
as long as I don't touch any controls. When this occurs,
there is also a strange disharmonic structure along
with what I'd call a fundamental... It's hard to explain
because it sounds rather wierd, natural yet alien. And
it's a thing I stumble upon by accident, not by design.
Most unfortunate.
