[sdiy] CVs to an old Radioshack Reverb

I also have one of these old RS stereo reverbs, and it IS possible to voltage control the delay time, at least. I don't have the board in front of me (I removed it from its case months ago with the intention of mounting behind a FracRak panel, which meant _cutting off_ the edge of the board and reconnecting points with a jumper wire, and hard-wiring some of the slide switch contacts; the cutting is done, the reconnecting/jumping awaits), but I recall that the delay time control (at least) is a pot wired as a variable resistance (wiper terminal is connected to one end). Try taking a Radio Hack photocell and tack solder it across the delay control contacts. By varying the amount of light you can control the delay time. Simply replace with an optoisolator (Vactrol or home-made) and you have voltage-controlled delay.

I'm not sure, but the regeneration may work the same way...

If you can obtain a manual for that puppy, the schematic is in the back.

Good luck,

Paul Camann

Completed phase1 over lunch today at work, which was ripping the thing out of its case, replacing the jacks, making sure it still worked, and doing some initial reconnaisance. Successful. Next phase, see about the CV thing - I'm optimistic by nature :-) Thanks for your input guys
