Ok, please bear with me :-) I've got a Doepfer 6U rack with one Doep
power supply in it (650mA) - it isn't powerful enough to supply all the
modules in the frame (just got an AS RS360 trifilter and after blowing a
fuse, they tell me it itself sucks 270mA). So I need to add another
power supply. En-port has the doepfer ones listed on their site but
suggest it'd be cheaper to get one from Radioshack or online etc. So
I'm looking at them in the RadShak website and others. I have a couple
of questions:
1) What's the diff between regulated and unregulated? Are the
doepfer/AS modules indifferent to this or expecting one or the other
type?
2) I see power supplies listed as 12v/xxxAmps, but the modules need
+/-12v, and in a few cases +5v as well (I have the little Doep adapter).
Do supplies normally put out the -12v as well as the +12v? Radioshack
doesn't say much about their units. If not (as in, they only do 0-12v)
what's the best way to get the -12v?
3) If someone could link me to a suitable supply (1A perhaps) somewhere
inexpensive on the web I'd be greatly appreciative!
Thanks all
KRIS
