Quick answer:

haven't tried it
should work
probably won't notice any difference

The signal-to-noise ratio is so high, being a 10v p-p system, that the
difference in noise will be way down in the mud (assuming that you attenuate
to line level after the output of the final VCA).

I just happened to have a few tubes of TL082's when I designed it. :)

Subject: [sdiy] ASM1 TL072/TL074 vs TL082

Hello!
I'm going to build the ASM1 and am currently preparing the PCB's.
I'm willing to replace the TL082 with TL072 and TL074.
What are the drawbacks (if any)?
Would you recommend sticking to the TL082's?
Is the noise ratio better when using the TL072/TL074 's?
Is it important for cerain modules only?
In how far is the sound affected?
Regards,
         Hans
