[sdiy] EDWin PCB software

Martin,

I bought version 1.5 non-commercial a long time ago (3-4 years). It was so
bad I gave up on it in less that a couple of days. Creating new symbols and
components in it was really teadious and obscure. It maybe better now I
don't know.

One of my big gripes about EE CAD and simulation stuff is they usally don't
follow the GUI guide lines for the platform they are on. This makes them
hard to use because you have to learn a new interface for every program.

The one that I have been playing with lately is from CAD Soft called Eagle.
They are a German company and have a demo version that does small double
sided boards on thier WEB site. I had a LM13600 drawn up and defined in a
couple of hours. The only thing that I found that bugs me (and it is more or
less a nit) is at the lowest level measurements are in mm. But hey, most
parts are spec that way now.
