[sdiy] Analog Delay Lines (was) [common acronyms?]

I've always wanted to do a delay with a phosphor coated disk...
and use optical recording.
I'd use a "flood light" for erase... and maybe a laser or led to write
and a photodiode to read. I'd have to work out the problems of
signal decay as delays get longer...
OTOH I have a nice digital delay brand new for $125 so....
