[sdiy] Percussion sequencer idea

"John: Does your chip produce a fairly even pulse wave? I see that it
makes a 5uS pulse... Any limits on the MIDI tempo where things start to
stray from "normal"? Also, what is the voltage range of the output? 0
to 5v?"

---The outputs are like clockwork. This is a uP chip. Runs off 5V only
and thus the outs are all 5V.

"I see how you mention stretching the pulse width to 1mS with a 4538...
does
your scheme with the 4018 divide by 3 follow nicely at a wide range of
tempos?"

---You can do the math here, but even with a 1mS pulse, you have to be
really way up in tempo to approach any problem areas. You might want to
stretch the pulse later when you really need it for driving external
gear.

This chip is basically a DIY project so we have no other data aside from
the spec sheet and lot's of (seemingly) happy users.
