[sdiy] grounding sheilded wire?

Hi everybody,

I'm wiring up the modules of my SBM and I am using sheilded wire for the 
Audio connections, following in the footsteps of many others.  But I wonder 
how I am supposed to ground the sheild, do I just connect one end to ground 
and leave the other end floating?  I am using banana jacks by the way.  I am 
pretty unfamiliar with this kind of wiring, is it ok to just have wires 
tapping ground with loose (ie not connected to anything) ends?
or does it need to go in some sort of continuous loop?
