Yeah, that's why BBD based delays sound so much better than digital
delays :->

Seriously again, I don't think resolution is much of a problem with a
digital scope. The usual screen of a CRO is 80 mm high and the beam
width is almost 1 mm... ok, sometimes you crank up the y gain to view
only parts of the curve. But 10 bits is 1024 steps. If the signal is 10
times higher than the screen height, it's still 100 steps on the screen
in y direction.
The main reason why digital scopes sometimes lie is a too low sampling rate.
