I use bf245s all the time, it's nice all purpose JFET. I used it in
several
VCOs and it sounds OK to me, no measurements thou. Long time ago I
compared
datasheets, I don't remember it lacking in some department to others.
C version has rather high Vgs but I think it's not an issue here.
Mind the pinout. BF245 (flat side toward you, pins down) is GSD.
