I hear you. For a while, i was making high end audio equipment as a
garage-industry type of thang. My partner and i had made, tested, and spent
hours listening to dozens of hi-fi speakers... when i got a job (electronics
repair) at a music equipment store... i was exceptionally underwhelmed with
the sound of even "reasonably good" PA systems. To be fair, though, the
design constraints imposed by filling a 50x50 foot room with sound are quite
tough. There is plenty of science and plenty of art in PA setup; and not
enough artists or scientists doing it.
