Hi Andy
I have heard of people having good results with fairly standard
opamps as drivers and pickups.... particularly good results seem to
be had when the driver coil is in the feedback loop of the driver
opamp...

I remember Tony Allgood posted a message in 1999 describing
successful use of 5534 opamps in a similar way to the concept in the
above website.

Also, by tweaking the filter values (caps etc) in for the driver and
pickup opamp circuits you can tailor the response of the reverb to
your liking :)
If you use low noise opamps and good grounding technique you should
have a very good sounding and quiet unit (unlike a lot that are
around...)
I am planning to try something similar in the next week or so - will
keep everyone posted on the outcome...
