Dear Rick and all,

Time flies when you are having fun, doesn't it? ;^)

Why wait? Just do it! ;O)

I don't know exactly when I originally joined Synth-DIY, but it can't
be that long after the begining. I just recently saw that the Swedish
sister of Analogue Heaven, SAS, which I was one of the original
members of, is turning 5 years later this year. I know that in about
the same time I joined Synth-DIY.

Anyway, even through I have been on the list on and off over this time
(loss of the original account or otherwise net contact where the
obsticles) and that there been waves of flamewars, I still think this
is one of the better lists there is and I still try to contribute to
it, although I misses some of the topics we used to have.

One of my early contributions was that of setting up the ASM-1
website (many people have still not changed their URLs from this site
to the current site BTW). This was back in the days when the original
batch of 50 PCBs was being rolled out. I now know that this site has
become somewhat of a reference for DIY people. We have seen many
spin-offs from this material and the latest is the SAS-modular
currently cooking and the first PCB is on the roll-out (VCO, based on
the ASM-1 VCO but enhanced with waveshapers as well as several minor
enhancements as commented by myself and others). Also, I still
regularly get emails from people that want to build the ASM-1, and
these now reaches into Asia such as South Korea for example. It is
linked in from all kinds of places and has numerous times been deemed
suitable for children (if they only knew ;).
I do not know how many ASM-1s there are... but they have been featured
on commercial records and got into second hand sales.

So... in advance... Happy Birthday Synth-DIY!!!!

May we live and prosper!

Wounderfull News!!!

Why no thelist at synth-diy.com?

PS. Please go and fetch the .org when you are at it!

> Thanks for being part of synth-diy!

We are happy to, we are so happy to!

Thanks for starting it and keep it alive through all these years, Rick!
At times it has been a trying experience with all the troubles that
running an email list carries.

PS. If only some other (than Xsnow) of your screensavers existed under
Unix. My screen still has snowstorms... (Linux user since 93/94 and
most of that time Linux has been the ONLY OS on my machine).

Cheers,
