Single sided boards; more patience than I have! (Been there, done that;
hate jumpers).

Double sided boards are bad enough but you have lots of ways to do
things and you can get very compact. Be prepared to pay $300 or so for
10 boards commercially made (the only way).

In general, for DIY, anytime you can find a PCB premade or a kit, you
are WAY ahead time, money and frustration factors....

If you like design work, a neatly built solderless breadboard circuit
will last for years. I've seen 20 year old BBs work fine!
