Hey Grant,

I guess you didn't find an official ARP Quadra phase shift schematic
on the web.  I have the Quadra service manual here and I'd be happy to
scan the phase shifter section for the cause.

I'm not sure about the cap above the ladder (between the two 100 ohm
resistors) -- it's 0.01 uF on the ARP Quadra and 10uF on JH's
schematic.  I'll guess that's what is causing the low-pass effect in
the simulation.

   A diode only variation of the phase shift ladder (has anyone seen
   it before?)

Oh man...  that's bizarre.
