Another nice display type are the VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent displays) as there
are now some types with LCD comaptible interface.
These types of display are self-lighting (normally in light green or light blue).
You may have seen these display in cashier boxes, old Texas Instruments
calculators (TI-45)...
