[sdiy] Inconsistent performance of Pitch wheel Moog Prodigy

Hey gang,
My Moog Prodigy pitch wheel seems to work.  Their are just some times that it seems to not.  If it becomes unresponsive I change a few settings.. it eventually kicks in.. then I put it back to the previous settings and it works.  I wonder whats causing the drop-outs?  I have an Eico tube osc in the sync in.  I used to notice that it (pitch wheel) wouldn't affect the sound depending on the sync setting... Now its seems to work no matter what..... except for here and there.  Do you all suppose that its a crappy wire?  It was recently serviced before I got it and I have yet to open it up.  Any thoughts?
