[sdiy] kinda OT: ASR10 cooling mods.

Hi all, my good friend has an asr 10 and an eps 16+ , and both of these
units, (especially the ASR-10) get very hot and then get unreliable. My
friend wanted to put some vents in it and then put some small fans there to
cool the unit. he asked for my help (the poor bugger), so I think basically,
running it from 9v batteries or external powersupply so as to not risk the
asr-10, and placing them over where the vents will be externally, unless
there is space inside, which somehow I doubt.

the other Idea was to maybe add some heat sinks to the processor chip(s) to
help in the cooling. if there are heatsinks there already then it would just
be a question of making bigger ones fit inside, but if there aren''t any
there, do you guys think it's a good Idea, how could be atach them to the
chips? heat sink compound?

has anyone done this to an ensoniq sampler?

thanks

Eduardo
