To all,
I am reluctantly forwarding this message to the group. It is my hope
that it is a hoax, but I have a bad feeling about this. I checked with
seven or eight "Hoax" sites and this was not listed as a hoax on any one
of them. If it turns out to be a one, please forgive my post, but in the
interest of the DIY community, I know that there are several DIY web
sites present on the Geocities servers.
My reason for posting is just to suggest a cautionary approach that
anyone with a web presence on these servers should mirror the site or
otherwise make a backup somewhere so that if this does turn out to be
the truth, the damage may be minimized. Where people's labor and time
creating these web sites is concerned, I believe that it would be
prudent and reasonable to be careful. (e.g. Midiwall).
Again, please accept my apologies in advance if this turns out to be
false alarm, but I am aware that Yahoo is in financial trouble and a
move of this sort would not surprise me.
