As for the attack, perhaps making C4 smaller might speed up the attack a
bit. I also see a possible culprit at C1. That probably could be lowered,
too.
Try those.

Anyone else with any ideas?

This type of drum circuit is a bit alien to me. I am used to the standard
twin-t types. That is why I initially said that increasing the trigger input
would increase DV/DT and thereby make it sound like it has a more severe
attack. This is different.
