Oh yes... been there, done that and a lot more besides ;-)

Its the Wavefolder. The two outputs in question are are 'clamp' and
'clip'. If you just need this feature you can forget the two OTAs, and
the sourrounding circuitry. Mine is designed so that the CVs are held at
the threshold point when not selected. This may or not be what you need,
although I found it to be more useful than dropping the output to zero.

Uh-oh... but having said that. He already has a clipper type circuit
that could be used like this. Not fully VC though.
