[sdiy] Sources for regular 19" vertical rack rails (not frac-rack)

Alas, I'm more or less going to *have* to start building a rack unit.
Seems a shame to pay any money for rack mount boxes or accessories, given
the stories I've heard about dot-com companies going belly-up and hauling
all their excess internet hardware to the curb.
Anyway, I want to build my own rack box - probably 54" to 60" high. All I
really need to buy is rails - I will build the rest myself.
So where's the best place to get rails of such size?
I see Middle Atlantic has large ones that aren't too expensive. Penn
Fabricating has some too, but in limited sizes. All these seem a bit
expensive considering it really is just a bent piece of metal with holes in
it.....
And then there's Ultimate Support Systems' "Thinkertoys" which would attach
on to one of my USS keyboard racks. Anybody used this rack system? Can they
be attached to the horizontal bars instead of vertical?
Thanks
Rob
