[sdiy] Prodigy.. disconnected white wire with red stripe.. pitch wheel not responding

I opened up my "almost" fully functional Prodigy today and noticed a disconnected wire (the one left for dead).  Its from the bunch that comes from the board to the output and external controller jacks as opposed to connecting to the board ala molex (or whatever those pins are called).  Could it connect to sync in?..I don't know.  I do know that the one unresponsive thing on this synth is the pitch wheel.  And yes I did remember to sync the osc's.  I mention that because the newly serviced Prodigy I own works that way.  Help please.
