[sdiy] synthi A webpage update

In some ways, I think that the few clones of EMS gear that various people
have made is nothing more than a tribute to EMS. How many people have
actually built a Synthi or a VCS3 clone on this planet?! I know of only 2,
and 1 isn't even finished!

EMS made some very cool products in there day, and continue to do so.
Almost like a "cult synth", the last 5 to 10 years has seen a massive rise
in their popularity (as well as anything else "analogue", whatever that is
defined to be. A poly800 is hardly as analogue as a Moog 3C).

Clones are fine. They are usually only made because the people that want
a true EMS (or whatever) can't find/afford the real thing.. so diy is an
alternative.
In that aspect, diy is a bonus! Its another way of obtaining a useful peice
of
equipment. So useful infact that its built to the operator's specifications!

Robin Wood shouldn't be worried about anything... he should be thrilled that
someone loves the EMS range so much to try and emulate it themselves...
