While I'm all for keeping EMS alive, I seriously doubt that by making
the schematics available that they'd lose business. Last I heard, EMS
has a 1 year backlog of orders (pretty impressive!) for their machines
which are _very_ expensive and certainly out of the range of the majority
of the DIY'ers that would be interested in building the circuits.
And even though all of the Moog schematics are available, has that
reduce the amount of business for Moog CE? Last I heard they have more
business than they really want as well. So evidently there's a huge
market for "original" built machines as opposed to copies. This is why
Putnam's kids are remarketing the Universal Audio line. People want the
real thing even though there are many clones on the market.
Just my input.
