Hi everyone..thanks for the kind and encouraging comments from fellow
synth-headz! I think that of all projects the synthi A is
something that a lot of people could have a good go at
with success, ..once the matrix problem is solved (either you buy one or
make one). Using a ready made case already solves much of the
headache about enclosures etc. Even if you cant get a spartanite..there
must be lots of other cases once could use.
Of course space becomes more of an issue then ..but in the end, I just
thought that the original design feature that Dave Cockerell (as far
as i know) dreamt up ..to put a vcs3 in a
case ..is just to COOL to overlook!!
Anyway I have put more info on the synthi A project on my pages.
Please excuse the messy formatting..but I am not using my usual
html editor at present.
It goes without saying that my original motivation
to build this was in no small measure down to Juergen Haibles
remarkable efforts in building his synthi A clone, as well as
all the great help from colleagues on the synth-diy list!
I have still to figure out eg if I want to put something in the `lid' of
the Synthi..like a sequencer or perhaps modules I couldnt fit on the front
panel..which I could patch into the matrix via a separate connector. There
isnt much room there..so maybe this is just a dream. If people have ideas
..they would be very welcome.
cheers steve
