Well, the marketing guys make all the *real* money, and don't have to study
their ass off to keep up with technology.. They go to school for 4 years,
and ppl give them money for the most part. As long as they can play a good
game of golf and drink like a fish, most of them will move up rather
quickly.

I think that perhaps the ability of most engineering types to actually
create wonderful things with their bare hands treads dreadfully close to
what many believe is solely a woman's function (ie procreation).
