[sdiy] using +/-15V supply with +/-12V gear

Well if you want dirt cheap and simple...
4 silicon diodes in series with each supply would drop the voltage by
2.8V... that would be REAL CLOSE to 12V (15 - 2.8 = 12.2V).
Or if you have schematics let me (us?) see and we can advise, its
possible
that no mods are needed at all...
