hello ppl.

maybe this is not about analogue synths, but MIDI is quite common here too.
I'm using several software synths and other programmes (like BUZZ), and i'd
like to have a midi controller hooked up to make working easier and more fun.
The thing is: the most simpel midi controllers i can find (Doepfer pocket
control http://www.doepfer.de) is already 125 US$. controllers of one class
higher are 200 US$. quite much for a poor student, if you consider that infact
such a box only reads the values of a knob and sends it to a MIDI IN port in a
different format.

do any of you have maybe built a midi controller thing yourselfs, or know
good references (online / books)?
I hope i can create one the DIY way (using some chips probably) and safe a
few bucks.

thanks anyway.

Peter van Hamersveld, who has build an analogue square-osci with a nice
sound, although this is irrelevant right now.
