Hi Paul:
I have a Hitachi IC memories data book which lists both the 6116 and
6116LP. The 6116LP has a typical supply current in standby mode (chip
de-selected) of 20 microamps, the 6116LP is listed at 2 microamps. 2
microamps verses 20 microamps isn't a huge difference, it should be
possible to back up either one with a battery or large cap.
Both devices are available in the same access times, you should be able to
substitute one for the other if it has the same suffix. Size is 2K X 8
bit.
