You can grabb a good one in all PC mouses, 2 per mouse in fact... 2 captors
made of a IR led+cell counting
holes on a little wheel moved by the ball...Dismantle a mouse and you will see
what i mean...
If you keep all electronic circuits of the mouse it will be a kind of RS232
output or USB now....
but i suppose it should be not very difficult to build a little decoder with
few ics....
It's one of the cheapest way if you have some old mouses... but require a bit
of mechanical/electronic work...
