  I'm glad to see all these better ways than my old brute-force
'pile-O-switches' approach.  I'll have to test out these others designs.
I did make a MIDI retrofit for the Polysix in 1993 that uses some Maxim
analog switches that were serially-addressed and drastically lowered the
parts count, but these implementations that sense the key assigner's
intentions are great.  (I actually tried to do this in 1985 using just a
Z8603 and some diodes, but I couldn't quite get it to work right.  I
still have the PCB I made for it somewhere).
