OK kids...
in the OLD DAYS (you who ARE remember who you are...)
mF was microFARAD. It NEVER WAS MILLIFARAD.
(and mmF was micromicroFarad... or 'pico'Farad)
so if an old timer writes a part number, they might slip in a small 'm'
in place of a small 'u'
NANO farad nF is a new invention in the USA, it was imported from
Europe (mostly). OLD TIMERS will probably still write the number
down and slip the decimal point to get uF or pF.
The Idea of using the multiplier as a decimal point is also European.
Its a good idea... I still don't use it cause I'm an old timer... but
by saying 2m2 instead of 2.2uF... you can't lose the decimal point in
a blueprint machine (oldtimers...) or fax (newtimers...).
So everybody use your heads !!! No 'one' set of terminology is right.
C'mon... 10 to-to-the-minus-three FARADS in a synth-diy project.
Whatthehellisthat??? An LFO that completes one cycle in your lifetime ???
