My thanks to Trevor, Scott and Robert,

Trevor is bringing a spare memory IC around this weekend so the Polysix
will live again very soon. This Polysix did have a terrible battery
leakage problem that was causing all sorts of hassle but I managed to
clean it up alright earlier this week. 'The Old Crow' website is a
fantastic resource for all things Polysix and the Scott's pictures show
just the sort of mess I had to clean up. I used speedwire (verowire) to
patch up all the lost tracks which gave a nice tidy finish. I replaced
the old battery with a new NiMH one... which may or may not be a good
idea. It was a Varta Mempac and fitted perfectly into the space left by
the old one. But having read about leaking NiMH cells I may change that
to a Lithium coin cell at some point in the future.

I think the memory problem preceeded the battery leak though due to what
the previous owner had told me. (Duncan are you still with us?)

On another note, has anyone tried to replace the wooden end cheeks and
keyboard trim on the Polysix? I rather fancy some real wood on it a la
Minimoog.

And while I'm at it, does anyone know of a source for the switch caps on
the front panel. I could do with one, and I know of one other list
member who wants one too. Korg UK don't have anything like it anymore.
