  I am not working on a polyphonic synth pe se, but I am making a board
that effectively replaces the KAS (key assigner) circuit board in the
Yamaha CS50/60/80.  This amounts to an 8-channel keys-to-CV and MIDI-to-CV
controller that follows the 7+1 (if 7 keys held, play 8th if indicated
otherwise ring shift through unkeyed voice slots 1 through 7) scheme of
the original KAS board.  The catch: the CVs are exponential, as the CS
machines are linear VCOs.  No doubt something could be done to also output
linear CVs for exp VCOs, while at the same time making the device into a
2Ux5U module.

  It needs to work in the CS80, first, however. ;)
