[sdiy] testing pots for linear or log??

Easy. Put a knob on the pot, and set it to 12 o'clock
(midpoint of mechanical rotation)... ohmmeter from wiper to
each end of the pot. If they are nearly equal, its a linear
pot.
If they are like 10% and 90% (or 20% and 80%) its some log
or audio taper.
