    As far as I know, the MFC6040 has been out of production for a
looonngg time (I may be wrong).  I have some of these....someplace.  They
were not very good, as I recall (I never pursued them, this was almost 30
years ago, I don't remember the specifics).  If my memory serves me
right, I built a clone of the Paia 2700 series VCA with "unmatched"
transistors, and it perfromed a lot better, but, like I said, I could be
wrong.
