  Please note the Bob Moog circuit as published has a missing resistor.
Things will fry if the circuit is powered up without adding the resistor;
see my corrected version of the schematic:

  The missing resistor was the 10K from the 2N3906 collector to the test
socket on the PNP half of the schematic.
