While more complicated circuits based on the 723 and other designs often
have better specs, three-terminal regulators are _very_ popular and seem to
work fine in a great multitude of applications.

I am looking at an original printing of the JUN. 15, 1984 TR-909 Service
Notes.  Page 12 shows a 7815, 7915, and 7805 on the power supply board.  If
they seem to be working, I see no reason to replace them.
