[sdiy] Kill the 303 spirit

Hey everyone...

I was just sitting around thinking about building a
new upgraded 303 sequencer. But as allways when im planning
something I just get to carried away sometimes. Anyway
I just want to get a public opinion about some ideas
that i thought up and how much they would kill the
303 spirit.

1. LCD (complete with bpm, pattern/song number pattern/track mode
play/write mode & hey maybe even volume and so on.)
2. MIDI implementation. (such as sync, MIDI2CV with possible
        filter controll)
3. USB communication. (being able to store patterns/songs to and from
the PC and maybe even sequence the 303 from the PC)
4. Digital potentiometers (I know this one can be a spirit killer
but i just have to ask. storing knob settings with the pattern,
having knobtweaking recorded within the songs. 128 or 256
step pots would be used anyway.)

Well that is what i have for now at least. All opinions are welcome
good as bad. I am also open for new suggestions. By the way is there
any measurements of the 303 timing and so on available out there?
If one would make a clone sequencer one should aim at getting it as
close as possible.
