dunno.. I got loads of 2SC945, 2SC1815 , BC548 [all can be used for 
equivalents by the way], dont see 2N3904 around too often..

Hi Daniel:

In my experience, the 2N3904 is easily the most commonly used transistor in
North America, but is rarely, if ever, used in Japanese products.  It's not
used much in Europe, either.
