Yes, the concept is the same...I got started on mine after reading Jan
Axelson's "Parallel Port Complete" and used his circuit (which is quite
similar).  I used HCT and HC CMOS parts instead of LSTTL - dropped the
current use from 60mA to 1mA.  It's nice to put an old, idle PC back
into useful service.

Did you make yours into a midi-to-cv converter?
