[sdiy] Simple Env. Followers?

Hello,
I'm about to embark on a quest to build my first analogue vocoder.
I'm trying to keep this project as small as possible, without taking 
to long to construct.

I've settled about the designs for the VCA's and bandpass filters, so 
now all i got to decide is what design i should use for the envelope 
followers.

These don't need to be complex at all, rather quite static, no attack 
or release controls are needed. I guess they should be quite 
"sensitive". I'm trying to track down a easy, low parts, design for 
these as I'm going to have to build 10 of em', i know I shouldn't be 
expecting to much, but i hoping for decent responce.

Anyone point me in the right direction?
