I had exactly that problem with the same pots in my 1202 (it's a very early
first generation, non-VLZ). I called Mackie, and they sent me replacement
pots. Put 'em in, and the problems were gone. This was about 4-5 years ago,
so current mileage may vary. My Master pot is doing it again, so I'll have
to replace it again soon.
