[sdiy] Has anyone used Mackie Pots for a project?

Mine is worse than scratchy... I just picked it up "as-is" for peanuts and
when I turn either the phones or master R-L pot past the center detente, the
output is reduced to a whisper in one or both of the channels... Could this
be something other than bad pots?

As someone put it, "long in the tooth" would describe this 1202, also....

Any ideas/experiences would be appreciated.
