 this last fall i played a party in a barn in northern maine...the
opening act did "live ambient trance" with 24 synths..in a barn. 
although it didn't sound terrible, it wasn't impressive, and it
certainly didn't rate more than 5 kbs per performer...not 12. 
seriously, they set up 4 3tier a frame stands plus another 5 or 6 other
stands...it was a little ridiculous.
