Has anyone tried the programmable analog systems that are starting to come
out? This is one possibility, like an FPGA only analog. I've done some
FPGA work in the past couple of years, which promises to allow you to make
your own digital ICs, albiet with lower density and speed. There are now
app notes on the Lattice site for VCOs and VCAs for ispPAC 10 device.
