[sdiy] SBM - Recommend Panel Pots & Knobs? Is a 'fake' Scope Risky?

Hi Martin..
well if you want to avoid spraying and just make a panel
legend that can be
stuck onto bare aluminium panels, then perhaps there are some possibilities.
If you go down the toner transfer paper route (which you can use with either
laser or photocopiers),
you could produce original colour artwork (including a background colour)
and print onto the
paper using a color photocopier (or color laser if you have access to
one). This will then produce a colour water-slide decal. I havent tried this
yet..but I will very soon as I have ordered some samples of a toner
transfer paper (not dynart paper) form a UK company I discoverd the other
day. I'll let the list know how I get on. The main question is how dense a
background one can produce on the final decal, so that the aluminium panel
does not show through. If this works ..it would save a lot of time with
spraying etc.
The safmat film I mentioned..which is a self-adhesive inkjet film, might
also possibly produce dense background colours. I have some spare sheets so
perhaps I'll give this a go as well.
Hope this helps
cheers steve
