Incidentally, this is the cause of what the recording engineers i worked with
call "roland-ittus". That's when the power or sync jack only work with the
cable positioned in just the right way. Sometimes you have to wrap the cable
around the unit to get the necessary tension.

The power and sync jacks on those x0x boxes were mounted on the circuitboard.
The joints get cracked after repeated in and out of the plugs. All you do is
touch up the joints and it works again.
